NTLDR is missing on bootup
After installing and re-installing, and repairing, what I am getting now is NTLDR is missing. So I went and copied this from my old C drive and pasted in into my F drive ( 60GB ) And to make matters worse, for some reason I can't boot from CD when starting, even after trying to change boot sequence in BIOS.

I can't boot from my origianl XP CD, the system hangs when I try. Is this going to happen with the slipstream version also? Do I need to uninstall SP2? I've been having problems with "NTLDR missing..." I've noticed several good posts regarding using the recovery console to try and fix this problem.

I assume you can still boot with a CD-ROM and that you used a CD-ROM that came with the HD to set it to use XP. I got the eMachines logo, then the message, "NTLDR missing," and the advice to type ctrl-alt-del to restart. But typing ctrl-alt-del just gets me to the same message. Or if you borrow someone's XP CD, you can install the Recovery Console from it, which should help. Check this article here;

I think your gonna need the xp cd's cause if your drive is ntfs you won't be able to see it with a dos boot disk and therefore can't copy the needed file over. not even Hardware Setup. By using a floppy I can get to my C: drive, but can't do anything. I tried copying NTLDR from another computer, to no avail.
